Donavan Tracey Jr. is the principal of Achievement First Providence Mayoral Academy Middle School. Mr. Tracey began his career in education in 2012 working in Leadership Development for New Haven Public Schools. In 2014 he began teaching at Achievement First Elm City College Preparatory School, where he taught history, mathematics, and science. Most recently, Mr. Tracey was the Dean of English, taught World Literature, and was the Assistant Basketball Coach at Amistad High School, as well as the Dean of Mathematics at Bridgeport Middle School. He received his bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Hartford, a master’s degree in Education at Southern Connecticut State University, completed Achievement First’s Principal-in-Residence Program, and Relay’s National Principal Academy Fellowship. Currently, he is pursuing his doctorate in Educational Leadership at Johnson & Wales University. Mr. Tracey is excited to serve the families and students at Achievement First Providence Mayoral Academy Middle School.
