Since our founding in 1998, we have always known that gaps in academic performance that fall along lines of race and income are caused by gaps in access and opportunity. Together with families and partners, like you, Achievement First has worked to right that wrong.
Thanks in part to generous contributors, Achievement First has grown from serving 84 fifth and sixth graders in New Haven, Connecticut to serving 15,000 students in 41 public schools in five communities across Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island. All of our K-12 students enroll via blind lottery. The majority are Black, Latinx, and children from low-income families who will be the first in their families to graduate from college.
Your support makes it possible for Achievement First to provide academic and extracurricular opportunities to our students. What’s more, your contribution makes it possible for Achievement First to respond to demand and serve more students by opening additional schools.
