Alicia Harper-Thomas is the Principal of Achievement First North Brooklyn Prep Elementary School. Mrs. Harper joined Achievement First in 2018 and worked in various leadership roles before becoming Principal. During her early days at AF, Mrs. Harper served as the K-2 Principal-in-Residence at Achievement First Brownsville Elementary and led the team to the top of the network in reading and math. Then, Mrs. Harper served as the fourth-grade Principal-in-Residence and Special Services Leader at Achievement First Aspire Elementary while also working with the network on K-1 Math. Prior to joining AF, Mrs. Harper worked as a school leader at Uncommon Schools, Success Academy and as an Adjunct Professor for the Touro Graduate School of Education. Mrs. Harper is a three-time Columbia University graduate, earning her BA in Psychology, MA in Psychological Counseling, and EdM. In her spare time, Mrs. Harper enjoys roaming the streets of Brooklyn with her husband and children, traveling, and reading a great book on a beach.
