As an education major in college, Shamel wanted to make sure his degree set him up for success. He’s found that success – for himself and the staff he supports – at Achievement First. Shamel works with schools to provide on-the-ground training for deans of students, behavior specialists, and principals as the middle school director of student experience. After seven years at AF, his love for the organization comes not only from seeing school culture evolve and students and teammates develop, but also from the people who’ve supported and championed him during his journey.
