This spring, Achievement First Providence High School will graduate its inaugural senior class! Opening in 2020, the school was ready to increase the number of sports options and student Jairon Nunez stepped up. From managing the girls’ volleyball team to founding multiple sports teams, including golf, Jairon’s leadership doubled the number of students trying out for volleyball this year. His teachers say he`s making the most of his high school experience, and @nbc10wjar just named him this week’s “Team Player”! Our talented scholars at AF East NY Elementary School have been working hard to bring The Lion King musical to life at school this June. As a special surprise, they went to see it on Broadway! Joy, inspiration, and wonder came to life.

Seeing The Lion King live was more than just a trip, it was a moment of pure magic, fueling their excitement to take the stage themselves. We can`t wait to see them shine this June!

Our AF educators are changing how students engage with mathematics by focusing on deep conceptual understanding and student-led problem solving. With this approach, students learn how to think critically, collaborate, and tackle real-world challenges.

Led by Alicia Lynch, Senior Director of K-8 Math on AF’s Teaching & Learning team, our Context for Learning math program encourages students to connect math to everyday life. The result? Students feel more confident solving complex problems and they’re having fun doing it!
