Throughout October, our AF scholars have worn pink in honor of #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth. Our students stood together to raise awareness, promote early detection, and support those impacted by breast cancer.
In the United States, breast cancer continues to be the most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer death in women, with the American Cancer Society estimating that in 2024 there have been more than 300,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer. Black women are particularly vulnerable and face a significantly higher rate of mortality, due to disparities in health care and genetic risk.
As a community, let’s continue to support the fight for a cure and innovative research, uplift communities that are particularly vulnerable to the disease, and honor the women who have been affected.
We`re just one week away from Election Day! AF Family, have you made a plan to vote? Remember, schools are closed on Tuesday, November 5th, so mark your calendars and get ready to make your voice count. Your vote is powerful and essential in shaping our future—don’t miss this opportunity to make a difference! If you haven`t seen our AF voting guide, check it out at the link in our bio! 🗳️
Leaves are on the ground, and there’s a crisp fall chill in the air! Our @af_providence_es scholars work hard so they can play hard, too! This week, they enjoyed an awesome field trip to Adam’s Farm, where they fed animals, picked pumpkins, and dove into all things fall! Swipe to catch all the highlights. 🍂🎃🚜
